All real estate licensees are not the same. Only real estate licensees who are members of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® are properly called REALTORS®. They proudly display the REALTOR "R" logo on the business card or other marketing and sales literature. When you see this trademark, it represents someone who takes their profession seriously. They have committed to treat all parties to a transaction honestly as part of the REALTORS® strict code of ethics and are expected to maintain a higher level of knowledge of the process of buying and selling real estate. In addition to the hours of education required by the state of Oklahoma, the 11,000 REALTORS® in our state take classes to be up-to-date on the latest contracts and professional standards. Some choose to go the extra mile to earn specific designations like ABR which is a specialist representing buyers.
Oklahoma REALTORS® are part of a network of REALTORS® throughout the country. Each member is a part of their local Association that focuses on real estate in their community. They are also a member of the Oklahoma Association of REALTORS® which focuses on the real estate on a state level. There are 25 local Associations in Oklahoma, click here to learn more.
